I can't say enough great things about this resort. It has everything a skiing-loving person could want, but in a low key, laid back, family friendly way. And perhaps more important, it's as opposite from the big corporate Colorado resorts as possible. It's exactly perfect the way it is. No lines, no selling your kidney for a lift ticket... just skiing on a beautiful mountain. The varied terrain is amazing and has as many challenges as one could want while skiing in the most beautiful of mountain scenery. Along with challenging terrain it has equally relaxing, pure fun, long green runs that take you though the easy route of those incredible mountains. Most importantly, did I mention there were no lift lines?
I give this resort 4.5 stars! It would receive 5 stars if the kids in the rental shop were a little better trained. This resort shined in other areas though! First, it's very uncrowded and has some great long runs. The lifts were not the greatest but so many times I would look ahead and behind me on a run and...I was the only one there. The staff was super friendly, from the lift attendants to the lodge cafe workers to Bill in the locker office. The food was great and reasonably priced compared to other resorts.
We did not have great snow unfortunately and there were some icy patches but did I mention that I had the mountain to myself many times? I improved so much. We put a 13 year old in ski lessons the first morning and not only were they super reasonable, she graduated to blues by the second day.
We visited NYE weekend. The first day we arrived at 8.30 and parked right in front of the entrance. Second day we arrived at almost 10 and had a 1 or 2 minute walk. We used our Indy passes and it was super easy. Just show them at the lift ticket window in exchange for lift tickets. Only once was the beginner lift busy. Again, the lifts could themselves could be better (my boots and skis felt like 500 pound weights without foot rests) but if you want wide open spaces to ski, this is the place!
Overall experience here was a top notch!
Transportation folks Greg and Scott were the kindest people. Truly a great asset to this resort.
I would hire these kind of people in my business in a heartbeat.
We did the snowmobile tour and our guide Ty was fantastic.
When we come back next season, we hope to see these amazing individuals again.
They’re behind these amazing experience.
Great variety for a pretty small ski resort! Eastern ridge is ungroomed and pretty rough/ challenging. But the western side blues are fantastic, and the greens aren't too flat. Beautiful view of Sopris Mountain.
Great place to learn how to ski! Booked 3 days classes for my 6 years old twins and they loved it. The instructors were amazing!
A great "locals" ski resort! My son and I took ski lessons which were fun and exhausting. We were placed in a large group but the four instructors kept it fun and real. From the lesson window, rental store, to the lifts , the staff were helpful and smiling. The place is off the beaten path and the parking lots filled up pretty quick. There are enough slopes that it seemed like the runs were fairly empty. The lines moved quickly if there were any. Family friendly, Awesome staff everywhere and great environment overall. The prices were cheaper than the Fancy resorts nearby. If you enjoy skiing or snowboarding and not needing the frills of stores at the base then this place is a must experience.
Great place to ski. Might be old school lifts, but great runs and great trails, and it won’t break your bank.
Nice size mountain but if it isn't a powder day all you get is moguls! All three lifts are ancient and slow.
